LAS MINI TERRAZAS DE BARCELONA

En la ciudad, el espacio exterior es un bien valioso y tenemos que aprovecharlo al máximo intentando sacarle el mayor partido. Eso es precisamente lo que están haciendo algunos bares de Barcelona, colocando bancos, taburetes, mesas y sillas de forma estratégica para aprovechar al máximo sus mini terrazas, nos dan ideas para aprovechar las mini terrazas que tengamos en casa.

The private outside space is something very valuable in the city, and we should take the more profit we could of it. This is what some bars of Barcelona are doing by putting benches, stools, tables and chairs in a strategic way in their mini terraces, these ones give us some ideas for the mini terraces we have at home.

EL LAGO HELADO

Me enseñaron en el colegio que el clima mediterráneo se caracteriza por sus inviernos templados. Aún así, los ciudadanos de Barcelona solemos quejarnos, durante nuestro agradable invierno, del frío que pasamos.

Allá donde realmente hace frío en invierno, con la primavera llega el deshielo, y los cisnes pueden volver a nadar en su lago helado. A parte del lago y de estar próximo a una de las pistas de esquí de los Pirineos, Puigcerdà ha sabido mantener la arquitectura original de su casco antiguo, rehabilitando sus fachadas y arreglando sus calles.

I learned at the primary school that the characteristic of the mediterranean climate was its templates winters. Even though, the citizens of Barcelona usually complain about the cold we have in our nice winters.

The ice begins to melt in spring at those places where are really cold in winter, and the swans can swim again in its frozen lake. Apart from the lake and being next to the ski resort of the Pyrenees, Puigcerdà has known to maintain the original architecture of its old town, rebuilding its facades and repairing its streets.

KERI SMITH

La descubrí un verano en una librería holandesa, aunque ella es canadiense, "How to be an explorer of the world". Cómo ser un explorador del mundo, cómo descubrir cosas nuevas en nuestro aparentemente rutinario día a día, cómo convertir un picnic en el parque al lado de casa en un viaje al otro lado del mundo.

I discovered her in a Dutch bookshop, although she is Canadian, "How to be an explorer of the world", what a good tittle for a book! How to be an explorer of the world, how to discover new things in our, apparently, routine, how to turn a picnic in a park near our house in a travel around the world.

Los libros de Keri Smith llevan títulos como "This is not a book", "Finish this book" o "Living out loud", y nos dice en su blog "You have immense powers". La ilustradora enseña a fomentar nuestra creatividad mediante pequeños ejercicios y reflexiones personales.

En "How to be an explorer of the world" ofrece ejercicios que ella llama exploraciones. Una de mis exploraciones preferidas es la número 35: "Invisible city", en la que nos anima a imaginar que todo lo que hay en nuestra ciudad es mágico, exagerado o con una realidad alterada. No debemos menospreciar nuestra imaginación y dejarla para uso exclusivo de los más pequeños, la imaginación es más importante que el conocimiento, dijo Albert Einstein.

Keri Smith's books have tittles as "This in not a book", "Finish this book" or "Living out loud", and she  says in her blog "You have immense powers". The illustrator teach us to improve our creativity by small exercises and personal thoughts.

In "How to be an explorer of the world" she gives us exercises that she call explorations. One of my favorites is the number 35: "Invisible city", in which she encourage us to imagine that everything in our city is magical, exaggerated or slightly altered. Our imagination mustn't be underestimated, we mustn't think it is only for children, the imagination is most important than knowledge, as Albert Einstein said.
